The Hide – Hwange National Park

The Hide has set a bar of excellence and luxury for Hwange National Park accommodation and is consistently voted as one of the “Best Safari Lodges” in Zimbabwe. Located in a prime position in the Park, The Hide offers a life-enriching safari experience for its guests, from its fantastic game viewing right on your doorstep, to a variety of daily activities to suit everyone and the warm and welcoming staff, who make you feel like family from the minute you arrive.

Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, we will be sharing some of our favourite safari highlights in the upcoming months, reminiscing about how far we have come over the last two decades. We dedicate the next 25 years to our managers, guides, cooks, cleaners, conservationists, mechanics, researchers… both past and present – and, most especially, to our wonderful guests. We look forward to welcoming you warmly, again and again, to The Hide.

The Hide – Celebrating 25 Years

A lot can happen in 25 years… Dreams are built, friendships are formed, adventures are taken and discoveries made. Before you know it, a quarter of a century has passed. Over this time, our guests from all over the world have embarked on their own life-changing journeys here, embraced their wild side and even explored beyond their limits. Nothing is impossible in the wilds of Hwange at one of its most iconic camps, The Hide…

Since The Hide first unzipped its tent flaps to excited guests in 1992, it has continued to delight with a level of guiding and hospitality that would have made its founder, Tom Preston, puff up with pride. Along with his wife, Lorraine, Tom believed that the success of a safari was all in the experience. That one time that makes you catch your breath or simply stop you in your tracks. Some people spend their whole lives looking for it. Guests at The Hide are guaranteed to come away with it.

Amazing – We stayed 3 nights at The Hide – this was absolutely amazing: the hospitality of the hosts is touching and our guide Nicholas was fantastic! We are in love with Zim now, and we are definitely coming back!” November 2016

Five Days of Wonder – Everything about the Hide in Zimbabwe was perfect. We had five fantastic days, three game drives a day with Daffy who could spot an animal far in the distance. Loads to see, some of which were very close, but we felt safe with Daffy in charge. Food, staff, accommodation and climate could not have been better, we would certainly recommend the Hide if you want a safari holiday.” January 2017
